Meet Me, Cassie.. the Burns behind the burns!

Welcome to my very first blog post!

I'd like to start by telling you a little about myself, so I hope you will hang with me. 

I'm Cassie Burns.. I have a wonderful husband and 4 amazing kids. I have always liked crafting and drawing but also have had a hard time focusing on just one hobby, ha! I've stayed home on and off with the kids for the past 14 years. Currently all my kids are in school, and I keep a couple of my friend's kids in the home to provide part-time childcare. I absolutely love kids!

I also LOVE God. I love going to church, I love listening to christian music, I love hanging out with the women's group from my church, and I love to use the bible, sermons, and songs to inspire the crafts I'm working on so that I can share it with others. I've never known where I belonged as far as my spiritual gifts and how to serve and share with others and this is the area I have finally found. It fills my cup and I hope it fills others as well. 

I have always been familiar with woodburning but then I watched many videos and saw posts online of so many amazing artworks done with different styles of woodburning pens. I started off with a craft store woodburner - soldering iron style but without much luck. I was too impatient, it was too hard, and I felt like I couldn't do as much as I wanted. I knew I wanted to do more so I found a more advanced pyrography pen and ordered it to come with different styles of interchangeable pens and it's only gone up from there! The beginning of this year after having this as a hobby for several years, I decided to jump all in and create a small business to grow my hobby and spread to even more people. 

Since the beginning of the year, I have been trying new things. I have found a local leathermaker who has made some beautiful wallets for me to burn designs on. I have found a small business in California that handmakes a suede trucker hat that I can put designs on. I have branched out to find other hats, leather products, and incorporate painting into my small business. 

This has been such a great year so far and I have several large vendor markets coming up in the next few months. I'm looking forward to ending the year on a high note!
